Labor rates across Texas vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.

Had a great experience with Crystal and the team today at JB service center. Had a β€œghost” issue going on with my AC in my truck. They didn’t give up and finally got it figured out for me. Then got the part and replaced the blower motor in under an hour. I highly recommend them. This was my first experience there. They have earned all my business moving forward. Thank you JB service center team!

Jimmy browns was amazing, I had to leave out of town the very next day and they got right on to fixing my car and calling around to make sure they could get my part as soon as possible. Manager there is absolutely GREAT.

STOP!!! Be careful if you’re thinking about buying here. Unless you want a car that lasts five minutes (3 months) and costs you over $5,000 in repairs. Jimmy Brown’s shop had a good reputation for years, but after my recent experience, I can no longer recommend them to anyone. I took my older vehicle in for servicing, only to be told the motor was no good. The staff was seemingly accommodating as I began the search for another vehicle. Convenience and displaced distrust sparked my interest in J&L AUTO (Jimmy Brown’s lot) next door to the old Jimmy Brown building on Highway 155. I asked if the vehicle I was interested in was inspected pre-purchase. I was told that it was, and I received the Car Fax reports, but no details about what the β€œJimmy Brown” inspection actually included. I was not too taken aback when I was told the brakes were β€œat 10 and 15 %”….so new brakes were required…That was an early but expected maintenance expense of 300 dollars, paid to yours truly, Jimmy Brown. After that bit of fourplay, I guess I should have felt the undesired lubrication being applied as the screwing process began. When the vehicle dies in mid-morning traffic on Highway 155 South, less than a

Had an outstanding first experience here! Got an oil change and tires rotated, plus they accurately diagnosed what was causing a warning light and fixed the problem. Price was very reasonable and all that work completed by lunch time. I will definitely use them from now on !

I dropped my car off at 9am and finally got it at 5pm by just showing up at the shop. They partially rewired my compressor and left wires exposed and never informed us what was going on. When we went up to the shop to get our car we found our car parked in the lot with the doors unlocked and they were closing the facility. When asked about the car they said β€œThey partially wired our car” and that was it. NO COMMUNICATION AT ALL!! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!
